Thing 18

Facebook  this is a link to my Facebook page.It is important for educators to use social networking so that we can share sites and information and bounce ideas off of one another. These sites can help people connect and learn what people are doing all over the world and maybe be able to Incorporate two classes from cross country. I like Facebook because I understand how to use it because I use it a lot. I still have yet to give into the fad of Twitter.
A school can use this to make sure the teachers are being professional on every level.

Thing 17

Delicious is an amazing tool. It can be a great search engine for e a research topic in school. The things someone tags can be accessed from anywhere which can help make research and keeping track of the online sources a lot easier.Teachers can use these bookmarks to share with other teachers. They can also spread news around that may be important for us to know about as teachers.

Thing 16

The start page I chose was iGoogle. I chose this because I have a Google email account and have this blog through it, so it would just make it easier to manage. I plan on making it my permanent homepage. An online calender is a great tool. It is easier to carry than an actual planner. It can be accessed from any computer or cell phone. The to do list is helpful, but it is the same thing pretty much as the calender...It is just one more site to have to remember. Of all the tools I liked the iGoogle the best because it has a calender that works as a to do list, it is a home page and connects you to your email.

Thing 15

I can use a wiki to show case the students art work that they do on the computer. What is interesting about wiki is that people can change and edit parts of actual work spaces they are a part of. The only down side is if people post facts there is no telling from just the site if the information is correct or not. Wiki is a great jumping off point for a paper. I find it odd how so many teachers have said never use a wiki site and now schools use them. I think having the children experiment with putting their own artwork on the sites and letting their parents have access so that the children can modify the side whenever they want. It can be a fun class activity for the year!

Thing 14

For this thing we were supposed to look at mind maps and flow charts. I used Mind Meister. I loved it I made a to do list of what I have left for the remainder of my classes it makes it a lot easier to keep up with then a piece of paper. I can access this document from any computer with Internet access. The flow chart I chose was Flowchart.com. Of the two I prefer Mind Meister, though there is a subscription to use it. The Mind Meister can help with paper, when a student needs to make a concept web with the topic sentence or main idea in the center and possible paragraphs all around.

Thing 13

Zoho Writer is an amazing tool. It is a lot like word, only you documents can be accessed from any computer that you can log into Zoho. Google Doc is also just like Word. The image above is a test document I made in Google Doc. Of the two I prefer Google, because it links with your email and can make emailing the document to someone else easier then having to go through exporting the document and then attaching the document to an email. Using Google Docs the student could write papers and have other students pull it up and proof read it for the writers. It makes having students work on the dame project easier if they have a group email with Google set up.
