One way I can use a blog as a teacher is for students to start one and write about problems they face in school everyday. I would not grade it so much as use it to better the school. You can also use a blog to help spread information about the school. The students in my class could start a news blog and every day post something new about the school, weather, community, or project.
Catherine, I think that this is a really good idea. getting a blog started about what the children face in school is really important because the parents need to know what happens when their children are at school. I also think the news blog is a great idea. it would be something fun and also it would be very educating to the children. They would be learning how to communicate with other people through technology, which is one of our standards. I think all of your ideas in this post are great.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a super idea! I hadn't thought of using a blog for the students. I think it would be a great tool for the teacher's professional development and for knowing what seems to be working and what isn't working. With everything though, you should be careful to not rely on their opinions too heavily. You are the adult and the leader of the class.
